For the week beginning September 28.

The Gathering will be held today, September 28, at 2:30.

Reading:
7A - Students will be reading "Amelia Earhart" in their Bridges books. We will be concentrating on the characteristics of biographies and the looking for main ideas versus details in our texts. Students will also take notes, practicing the different reading strategies in their logs.
7B/C - Students will be reading "Eleanor Roosevelt" in their L.O.L. books. We will be concentrating on the characteristics of biographies and recognizing author claims in texts. We will also study chronological order.


Writing-
All Classes - Students are on List #2 spelling words, which will be tested on Friday, October 2. We will begin our first grammar lesson on the sentence and its parts. We will also review and discuss the 6 (+1) traits of writing and the writing process. Students will receive their first writing assignment, which will be a short but descriptive biography.

BREAKING NEWS!!! GET IT HERE!!!

Attention Parents, Caregivers, & Students:
1) There will be a Physical Education uniform this year for school. Your child will be required to change into this uniform before P.E. class. You will receive additional information in the coming days regarding this change.

2) New this year to the school are lockers. Each student is required to bring to school a combination or key lock. Students will also be required to submit the combination number or a duplicate key to their homeroom teachers before gaining access to the lockers.
